Beltaine Song: Will You Dance?

It's time for another song! And since this season is often celebrated with dances, that seemed like a fun theme to go with. Of course, you could see a song like this as tempting a hapless human to do something stupid because it's just fun to goof off, especially at this time of year,, but you could also see it as helping people dance away out of their constrictions.

Musically, this is a pretty much straight-up polka beat. You'll notice in the recording, though, that I've been experimenting with the drum capabilities of my new-to-me electronic accordion, because it seems like adding just a hint of bass drum and hi-hat helped emphasize the rhythm a bit more clearly. The use of the mixolydian scale (with a G natural rather than a "normal" G#) gives the whole thing a bit of a folky Appalachian flavor which I quite like. Plus that's how the chorus came through when I started humming it in the shower, so I just went with it.

That means, in short, you can use them yourself and your grove, and play the song to your heart's content both in private and in public, but must give credit where credit is due, and if you're planning on selling something involving this song we need to talk about that first.
