Lughnassadh Song: The Land Claims a Sovereign

This song was written for the recent Stone Creed Grove Lughnassadh celebration, as a way of honoring the standard heroic story that Lugh exemplifies, but this time from a different perspective than the usual one. What has changed here is that the hero is almost passive in his participation in the events, while the powers of the land (e.g. Morrigan) are testing him in various ways to ensure that he is actually worthy of taking on the burdens of rulership.

As we've learned all too horribly well in human history, untested and untried leaders do not make good rulers. Neither do those who attempt to mask their cowardice, incompetence, or evil with sheer bluster.

All works are copyright by yours truly, but may be distributed under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike 4.0. That means, in short, you can use them yourself and your grove, and play the song to your heart's content both in private and in public, but must give credit where credit is due, and if you're planning on selling something involving this song we need to talk about that first.
